our explorer.

greg just finished reading a book called Wild Things, which is all about raising boys. in it, they refer to the two to four year olds as "explorers." we are finding this to be very true.
elijah is definitely a little explorer.

he is so much fun and absolutely melts my heart.
and then he's also so wild and crazy that he makes me feel a bit crazy at times.

we love watching him become the little guy God created him to be.
and we also pray for wisdom to raise him.
he continues to capture our hearts.

. our explorer elijah .
full of life
sweet and loving
curious
repeats everything he hears
sings abc's and "rejoice song"
likes building with blocks
lines up cars
enjoys jumping on and off of everything
wrestles and tackles those he loves
loves playing with the footballs and basketballs with daddy

we are so thankful for this little guy.

time flies.

four weeks ago today, our little jude made his debut.
time has gone so quickly as we've cherished these early days together.

jude's name means: praise; thanks. and we certainly do praise God for the privilege to raise this little guy.

the pictures below are from when he was two weeks old. he is already looking different than he did then.
oh, they grow up so fast!

. our little jude .
sweet baby
calm and cool
loves being held
tough little guy
enjoys looking at his brother, daddy, mommy
such a joy

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God,
that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

brotherly love.

i know there will be a day, when these two boys will play together endlessly and really love having one another to enjoy discovering the world together. and as boys, they will show their love and affection for each other by wrestling, hitting, and banging into each other. and as mommy, i'm all for "boys being boys."

but until little jude gets a bit older and stronger, i'm currently spending my days acting as his personal bodyguard. i constantly pray for the Lord to protect these little men. this momma is also just having to trust the good old saying, "what doesn't hurt him, will only make him stronger." elijah just better be careful if this is true. little jude is looking to have a whole lot of strength in his future.

oh, the joys of life with little boys!

picture time : smile.

our talented neighbor graciously came over to take some pictures of our boys.

here's a look at what actually took place while trying to get our little two year old to smile for the camera.
